Rye Town Park and Beach rules have been formulated for the protection of all park users. Following the rules makes it possible for park users to have a safe and enjoyable experience. If you have any concerns or questions about the rules or the behavior of anyone in the park, please contact the park director at (914) 967-0965.
Park Rangers patrol the park regularly, but you can also ask for help from other staff, including park attendants, lifeguards, and maintenance workers. The Park Director and Security Captain's offices are located in the administration building.
Lost and Found is located in the Security Captains Office – If you find anything, you can return it to any member of the park staff.
Hours of operation - The park is open from dawn to 11:00pm. All cars must be out of the parking lot before closing time. The parking lot opens at 9:00AM and the beach is open from 9:00AM to 8:00PM everyday. Pedestrian entrances to the Park are located along Dearborn, Forest and Rye Beach Avenues.

BEACH RULES - as adopted by the Rye Town Park Commission
To improve the beauty of the park's public outdoor spaces, and ensure an even healthier and cleaner experience for our visitors, smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited at Rye Town Park and Beach.
Smoking is defined as but not limited to ALL cigarettes, cigars, pipes, e-cigarettes and vaping devices.
Prohibited Areas: Smoking of any kind is prohibited in all areas of the park, including but not limited to parking lots, and on the beach as defined above.
Permitted Areas: On the side walks immediately adjoining the property
Enforcement: Violators of this policy will be subject to summons and fine by the City of Rye Police Department.
1. Where do I get a parking/beach permit?
You can obtain a season permit online through our Permit Portal at permit.ryetownpark.com OR in person at the permit office located at the beach. The permit office is open Wednesdays through Sundays - 9:00am - 3:00pm starting the First Wednesday of May - Mid July 2024. The permit portal will remain open until September 1, 2024.
2. Who can get a season parking and beach permit?
If you live in the communities of Rye City, Rye Brook, Port Chester or Rye Neck you can obtain a RESIDENT permit. All other members of the public may obtain non-resident permits.
3. Who does my parking/beach permit include?
A. Senior or Individual Permit -- only the person holding the permit;
B. Family Permit - two parents and children under 22 years of age;
4. What about babysitters, grandparents, etc?
There is a babysitter registration form to complete, all others must obtain their own permit or pay the daily rates
5. Do we have handicapped parking? Where is the handicapped parking?
There are approximately 24 handicapped spaces in the two sections of the parking lot closest to the beach. If they are filled, however, we can arrange for dropping a handicapped person off near the beach gate, or transporting a handicapped person who drives from the parking lot to the beach. You would need to have a cell phone or contact the park office and schedule your visit in advance. Phone (914) 967-0965.
6. I’m handicapped; can I park my car right by the middle beach gate?
No, but we can arrange for you to get access to the beach, but we cannot have cars parked in any way that interferes with public safety and access. For further information, phone the Park Director at (914) 967-0965.
7. Can I get my money back if it starts to rain?
Fees are non-refundable. You must use your own judgement regarding paying entrance fees in uncertain weather conditions.
8. How can I arrange to have an event at one of the pavilions?
You can receive information about renting a pavilion or beach barbecue area by visiting our facility rental page
9. Can I bring a school/camp group here for nature study on the beach?
Yes, but you need to make arrangements in advance. Call (914) 967-0965.
10. Will Kayaks be available to rent this season?
Yes. You can make a reservation by visiting the Hudson River Recreation Website
11. Is there food available at the beach?
Yes. The onsite restaurant The Barley Beach House is open -visit their website or Facebook
